Jean-Jacques DALIA - Ville de Vittel

Leaving the city

And exploring the Vosges forest

The place to fulfil all your wishes

Just outside Vittel, the forest opens its doors and branches to us: whether we fancy a good workout, spotting wildlife with the children or simply enjoying a change of scenery by spending the night in a treehouse, the Vittel forest has something to suit every taste.

Encounters with animals

From Vit Tel Ta Nature

We head for the landscaped parks of Vit Tel Ta Nature. In the heart of the forest, surrounded by wild animals, hens, roosters, goats, peacocks and even donkeys and rabbits are waiting for us to admire them. And rightly so: the forest seems to suit them perfectly.

Here, in the heart of the Vosges forest, coolness is the order of the day: the trees shelter us with their branches, providing shade from the sun for both animals and people.

If we fancy exploring the forest, Vit Tel Ta Nature offers bikes for hire for a ride.

Keeping fit

And enjoy the Vosges countryside

We cycle out of Vit Tel Ta Nature and back onto the road from Vittel to Contrexéville. As we approach Vittel, we stop on the outskirts of the town. There’s a playground there for young and old alike. We’ll be taking a sporting break for the more adventurous, whilst the others can simply enjoy the scenery.

Sports and games

Right next door to the unusual accommodation is a sports and games park where rowing machines, pull-up bars, stepper machines and elliptical bikes await us. We give the elliptical a miss in favour of the other equipment, just in time for a bit of muscle-building before heading back to our bikes and the city.

Those who prefer to take it easy will be keeping an eye on the children as they climb the treehouse and whizz down the slides. It’s not exactly a relaxing break, but it’s a good one!

Baskets of local produce

If you’re staying overnight at Vit Tel Ta Nature, why not take the opportunity to sample baskets of 100 per cent local produce? These baskets, provided by your hosts, will allow you to savour the full richness of the flavours of the Vosges.

Vit Tel Ta Nature’s cabins

There’s nothing quite like Vit Tel Ta Nature’s cabins for a good night’s sleep. Whether you choose the tree-top cabins or go for a Hobbit-style experience in the semi-underground cabins, a change of scenery and a chance to switch off are guaranteed.

Back to town

For an evening at the Casino

We’ll be heading back to the city and our hotel for an evening of a completely different sort.

This evening, we’re going to enjoy the Vittel Casino and spend the evening there. Smart dress is required, so we’ll wash away the traces of our sporting adventures with a good shower. A long dress, dangling earrings and a touch of make-up for me; a tuxedo for Monsieur – it’s time to set off and play Casino Royal.

Champagne and a candlelit dinner before heading to the Casino

With glasses of champagne in hand, we begin with a candlelit dinner. We need to recharge our batteries before throwing ourselves into the fray and placing our bets. To get us in the mood, we make the most of the Privilège terrace and its musical evening before heading to the Casino and the slot machines… for an evening full of excitement.
