One day

To experience nature

  1. Home
  2. Experiences / to live
  3. Sleep and dream in a perched cabin

Looking to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature? Vit Tel Ta Nature has everything you need. Perched, ground or semi-buried cabins, in the style of a certain Hobbit, mini-farms or Zen bubbles, there’s enough to offer you a real eco-responsible interlude. An invitation to take advantage, that we didn’t refuse.

Vit Tel Ta Nature, a small eco-participatory village

To reach our destination for the day, we leave Vittel and take the road to Contrexéville. We stop off in the forest, on the catchment area for the two towns’ mineral waters. This is where we’ll be spending the day, and believe us, there’s plenty to do.

First we head to the Vit Tel Ta Nature reception desk to pick up the key to our cabin. We’ve chosen an elevated cabin, but there are also semi-buried and ground-level cabins. The wood comes from local forests, and is built by the local team. No fairies, no elves, but men and women committed to the most ecological experience possible.

We chose the “Arbràmâne” hut. Perched 12 meters off the ground, we have a breathtaking view of the forest and Vosges plains from the outdoor terrace. We’ve got a bit of time before we take possession of the place, so we decide to go for a walk… Not to Chez Swann, but rather to the cabanes.

    The Arbràmane hut presents itself

I have a double bed and 3 single beds.

Don’t forget to bundle up, as I’m neither insulated nor heated. Ideal for cosy evenings, wrapped up in big, warm plaids!

I welcome you from March to December. The rest of the time, I’m just relaxing. Above all, it’s too cold for you to come and stay with me.

I’m lit by a solar lamp, and I’m not connected to the electricity supply. So think about an external battery, and flashlights… Battery-powered or solar-powered!

    Discover Vit Tel Ta Nature

We’re venturing into what you might call a small estate. Vit tel ta nature has not only accommodation, but also a wildlife park, a garden, wellness workshops… And if you’ve already had a look, there are even forest walks.

    Activities for all natures

All activities are designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible: bikes are recycled, trees used for huts are replaced by new ones. We improvise ourselves as farmers, and set about maintaining the participatory garden, with a detour to the animal park. Before heading back up to our cabin, a detour to the zen bubble allows us to relax after our efforts.

      Cultivating your green thumb

Vit Tel Ta Nature has a participatory ecological park. So everyone is free to come and plant, pick, but also maintain this piece of land. An activity to reconnect with nature, but also with your nature, and to have a green thumb for your return.

      Sharing moments of tenderness

Human beings aren’t the only residents of Vit Tel Ta Nature: goats, donkeys, sheep, pigs, dogs, rabbits… are housed on this preserved space from March to November. Activities for groups punctuate the lives of these inhabitants, who love to be petted. If you wish to participate in their daily life, a piggy bank is available to finance their care, and a bin for collecting your peelings allows you to recycle your leftovers to feed them.

Tending to your soul and body

Naturopathy, massage, relaxation, shiatsu or even Qi-gong are all welcome disciplines during your visit to Vit Tel Ta Nature. In addition to your overnight stay, you’ll be able to benefit from the expert advice of health professionals, to bring a little piece of well-being right into your home.

Set out to discover lush nature

Vit Tel Ta Nature provides two electric-assist bikes. But that’s not all: old bikes are recovered, refurbished, and can be borrowed for long rides. In fact, you can download several ride maps here. All you have to do is pedal away!

Dine and dream to the sounds of nature

Now it’s time for lunch. We’ve returned to our hut, where we’ve snuggled up under the blankets, with our electric hot water bottles, an essential accessory for chilly people. Our local meal is delivered to us at the foot of our hut. It’s up to us to hoist it up. A final exercise to whet our appetites.

On arrival, we bought some local beers from the local store. Vit Tel Ta Nature also offers local wines. We enjoy our packed lunch, savoring every bite. We’re in the quiet: no television, no extraneous noise, nothing but birdsong and the sunset to accompany us.

        Last tastes before departure

Then it’s time for bed. Snug and warm, we let ourselves be lulled by the sounds of nature. Tomorrow, breakfast awaits us at the foot of our hut. It’s already the end of our short but intense, rejuvenating interlude.
