Tours and workshops to explore the farm as a family

At the Ferme du Pichet in Norroy-sur-Vair, children and adults alike can enjoy an immersive experience at the heart of the farm. The tours on offer provide an insight into daily farm life, the animals and farming skills through activities suitable for the whole family.

To round off the experience, a range of hands-on workshops are on offer: making butter, flour, apple juice and cow’s milk soap, as well as creating felted wool crafts and natural modelling clay. These fun and educational activities allow visitors to learn whilst having fun.

Everything you need to know about the Ferme du Pichet

La Ferme du Pichet is divided into three parts: the dairy farm, the educational farm and the guest rooms.

Morning tours take place from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and, in the afternoon, from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm, and include a demonstration of how the cows are milked.

The farm tour and tasting are free for children under two. You can pay by cash or cheque.

Discovering the farm’s animals and traditional skills

A visit to the Ferme du Pichet in Norroy-sur-Vair invites young and old alike to discover the farm animals and the day-to-day life of a dairy farm. As they meet the cows, calves and other animals, children’s curiosity is sparked and they learn about farming through conversations with the farm’s passionate staff.

After this hands-on experience with the animals, it’s time for a butter-making workshop. With step-by-step guidance, visitors learn about the stages involved in processing milk and leave with a better understanding of farming expertise. A fun and educational activity to enjoy as a family.

After the farm tour, enjoy a relaxed lunch break with a picnic featuring local produce. It’s the perfect opportunity to recharge your batteries before continuing your exploration of the Ferme du Pichet in Norroy-sur-Vair.

In the afternoon, it’s time for creative and educational workshops. The children become real apprentice farmers and craftspeople by helping to make natural modelling clay. A fun activity that lets them get hands-on, create and discover the farm’s traditional skills in a different way.

To accompany our cheese tasting, our hosts serve us bread, honey, cocoa and a selection of local gourmet specialities. To quench our thirst, local syrups are added to the water, adding a touch of freshness to this convivial occasion.

Simple, authentic produce sourced from the local area, which perfectly showcases the rich local flavours of Vittel and its surroundings.

Whilst we enjoy this farm-style afternoon tea, we also watch the cows being milked – a special opportunity to discover daily life on the farm and the producers’ expertise. A lovely way to round off this immersive day at the heart of the farming world.

Whether discovering or rediscovering the joys of our childhood, the Ferme du Pichet allowed us to immerse ourselves in those feelings throughout our stay. But Vittel has many more surprises in store, helping you rediscover your soul and reconnect with your true self.
