Vittel Rond Pré Équitation, an equestrian centre in the heart of the spa park

Set in the lush green surroundings of Vittel Thermal Park, right next to Vittel Racecourse, the “Vittel Rond Pré Équitation” equestrian centre welcomes riders all year round.

From horse rides and introductory riding sessions to a range of equestrian activities, enjoy this idyllic setting to spend time with the horses in the heart of Vittel’s natural surroundings. An ideal experience for young and old alike, from beginners to experienced riders.

In Vittel, you can discover some stunning spots on horseback. For my first ride (and with a touch of trepidation), I chose a trail ride, following Amandine’s advice. After the essential stage of preparing the horse, during which I got to know Orion, my mount for the day, I learnt how to brush him and clean his hooves… Then we were off – I put the saddle on him and tightened his girth; Orion, completely unfazed, let me get on with it, which was reassuring for me!

When I took him into the riding arena for a few laps, his pace was slow and steady. My horse is well-trained, and I soon got into the swing of things – it was a real pleasure.

The riding centre comprises:

A stable block with 30 stalls
A spacious clubhouse overlooking the 40m x 20m indoor riding arena
Three indoor riding arenas: one arena measuring 70m x 30m, one arena measuring 40m x 20m, and one ‘Baby Pony’ arena measuring 20m x 15m
Two Toubin Clément outdoor arenas: one 100m x 50m arena and one 70m x 50m arena
Numerous forest trails for rides
Paddocks where horses and ponies can relax…

Vittel Rond Pré Équitation, affiliated to the French Equestrian Federation, welcomes you all year round to introduce you to horse riding, whether for leisure or competition, under the guidance of a state-qualified instructor.

The horse’s gaits: from walk to trot

Horses naturally move at different gaits: walk, trot and canter. These movements are part of their natural behaviour and allow riders to experience a variety of sensations whilst out riding.

During a horse ride in Vittel, riders mainly ride at a walk and a trot – gaits that are ideal for fully enjoying the scenery and the trails in complete safety. Accompanied by professionals, participants discover the pleasure of horse riding whilst learning to understand their horse better.

From the Vittel Rond Pré Équitation riding centre, set off to explore the paths and trails around the town. After a brief introductory session in the riding arena, riders set off on a ride through unspoilt natural surroundings.

The route takes you, in particular, to the outskirts of the Vittel racecourse and the area’s shaded paths, offering a relaxing experience at the horses’ pace. Ideal for riders looking to enjoy a trip into the countryside, this ride offers a different way to discover the Vittel countryside, in the company of horses well-accustomed to these routes.

A special moment with the horses after the ride

After the ride, it’s time to spend some quality time with the horses. A grooming session gives you the chance to look after your horse, extend the experience and strengthen the bond between rider and animal.

Before returning to their stables, the horses enjoy a few final, well-deserved strokes. A lovely way to round off this horse ride in Vittel, combining exploration, nature and bonding with the horses.
