What is the ‘Classified Tourist Resort’ label? It is a rigorous standard.
Awarded by decree, a tourist resort’s classification is valid for 12 years and requires compliance with around fifty criteria:
- tourist accommodation of various types and categories,
- cultural events and activities,
- physical and sporting activities,
- professional expertise,
- local shops and appropriate healthcare facilities,
- a local urban development plan,
- a sewerage zoning plan,
- initiatives relating to the environment, the enhancement of the local environment, the conservation of sites and monuments, public health and waste management,
- multilingual tourist information on tourist activities and attractions,
- transport infrastructure,
- maintenance and safety of facilities,
- signage for its Tourist Office and its main tourist attractions.
